Can you cat-proof any balcony?
Almost any, small Juliet balconies, standard unit balconies and large terraces alike. We work with the existing rail, walls and ceiling to close every gap. The trickier the shape, the more a custom build earns its keep.
Will body corporate or my landlord allow it?
Often yes, especially with a discreet design that doesn't alter the building's look. Many enclosures use non-permanent, damage-free fixing precisely so they clear body-corporate and rental rules. Check your by-laws or lease, and we can build to suit what's approved.
Do you drill into the building?
Only if you're allowed to and you want the sturdiest result. Where drilling's off the table, we use tension-mounted frames and other non-invasive methods that hold firm without leaving holes.
Is it strong enough to stop a determined cat?
Yes. It's the same heavy mesh and solid framing we use on ground-level catios, sealed at every join. Cats can lean on it, climb it and headbutt it, it isn't going anywhere.
Will it block my view or light?
Barely. The mesh is fine and the frame is slim, so from inside you look straight through it. Most people say they stop noticing it within a day, and the cat's delight more than makes up for it.
Can I still use the balcony myself?
Absolutely. It's designed as a shared space, you keep your chairs, plants and washing line, and the cat gets to join you safely. We plan the layout around how you actually use the balcony.
What about high-rise wind and weather?
